Troubleshooting Mail Connection Errors in Microsoft Office Outlook

Troubleshooting Connection Errors

If you are having difficulty connecting to our mail server or sending/receiving email, please verify the following settings are correct in your mail client.

In Outlook, navigate to Tools -> Account Settings, then double-click on your email address in the new window.

Verify that the incoming and outgoing mail servers are both set to "mail.yourdomain.com," where yourdomain.com is the name of your website, and your username is your full email address (user@domain.com).

Click "More Settings" and click the "Outgoing Server" tab.  Verify "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked and "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.

Click the "Advanced" tab.  Verify the Incoming server (POP3) port is set to 110, SSL encryption is unchecked, and the Outgoing server (SMTP) port is set to 25.  If you are having trouble sending email, try setting the SMTP port to 2525.
