Fix Outgoing Connection Errors - Outlook


This tutorial will instruct you on how to configure Outlook to work with Internet Service Providers that do not allow connections on port 25.

The most common error this fixes is the relay error 550 5.7.1.

Step 1 - Open Outlook

Step 2 - Open Email Accounts

Click on the Tools menu and select E-mail Accounts

Step 3 - Modify Account

Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next

Select your email account and click Change

Click More Settings

Click the Advanced Tab and change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port from 25 to 2525.

Click OK to save the changes.  Click Next and then Finish.
