Outlook Spam Rules

Step 1 - Open Outlook

Open the Outlook program, you can usually find this by going to "Start" then "All Programs" and then Microsoft Office. This may vary depending upon your versions of Microsoft Windows.

Step 2 - Open Rules and Alerts

Click on the "Tools Menu" and then choose "Rules and Alerts."

Step 3 - Adding a New Rule

Choose "New Rule."

Step 4 - Select a Template

Select the "Move messages with specific words in the subject to a folder" option and then click "Next."

Step 5 - Rules Wizard

Select the "specific words in the subject" option and then click "specific words" in the blue text below.

Step 6 - Enter your Rule Information

Fill in the rule information as you see it below. For your word subject type "*** Spam ***." There is a space before and after the asteric (*) on either side of the word "Spam." Click "OK."

Step 7 - Specify the Folder

Click the "specified folder" in the blue text below.

Click on the "JunkMail" folder. Then select "OK."

Step 8 - Completing the Rule

Select "Finish."

The finished rule should now look like this.
